Taking back control of the premises at the Moll de Mestral wharf will enable companies linked to nautical sports and the sea to move in, potentially generating up to two hundred jobs.

The boost to the blue economy will replace the nightlife which has predominated in the area to date and which causes inconvenience to local people and cuts the port off from the lives of citizens.

New social and family meeting point

Recovering control of the premises is another step towards the transformation of the area, which also includes an urban revamp to create areas to relax in, the renovation and extension of the Municipal Sailing Centre and improved connections with the rest of the city.

Some measures to open up the port for use by local people are already under way.
