Work gets under way in June on two blocks of flats being built by the Municipal Housing Trust. A block of 68 homes, to be offered with surface rights, is to be built in the neighbourhood of El Parc i la Llacuna de Poblenou, while another of 46 flats for social rent is being built in Sant Andreu. The two developments represent an overall investment of 11 million euros.
The project in the neighbourhood of Sant Andreu will see one of the old Can Fabra factory buildings in C/ Parellada turned into a block of flats. The 46 homes will be used as social housing and the ground floor will be used as premises for a human towers group. Each flat will be 53 square metres and have two bedrooms.
The building in the neighbourhood of El Parc i la Llacuna de Poblenou will have 68 flats and two staircases, one accessed via Pl. Dolors Piera and the other via Pl. Isabel Vila. The 12-floor block corresponds to the interior stage of the Sancho d’Àvila housing project. The flats will be between 50 and 74 square metres and have between one and three bedrooms. The ground floor will be used for storage units and premises. Work is expected to take 24 months.
Both projects are expected to take 24 months and have been put out to tender with budgets of 5.3 and 5.7 million euros respectively, not including VAT.
