The 18 Three Kings Parades in Barcelona’s neighbourhoods

Seeing as they’re magical, the Three Kings of the Orient have no problem performing dozens of parades in one evening. Many neighbourhoods in Barcelona embrace the figures of Melchior, Gaspar and Balthasar in their own way, with local entourages of pages, helpers and floats. There are a wide variety, each one with its own traits. A total of eighteen parades are being held on the evening of 5 January this year. Here they are, in order of district:

 

Horta-Guinardó district

Three Kings Parade in Horta-Guinardó. The parade takes in various neighbourhoods in the district, such as El Carmel, Horta, La Font d’en Fargues and Guinardó. From 6 pm to 8 pm.

Three Kings Parade in Sant Genís dels Agudells. Starts at 6 pm, setting off from Plaça de la Font del Roure. There will be letter deliveries and a hot-chocolate fest at Plaça de Meguidó.

Three Kings Parade in La Teixonera. From 7 pm to 9.30 pm, setting off and finishing at the Sant Cebrià parish church.

Three Kings Parade in Montbau. From 6 pm, starting out in C/ Vayreda.

 

Les Corts District

Three Kings Parade in Sants – Les Corts. The Three Kings will be received in Pl. Comes at 5 pm and their parade will start at 6 pm, heading towards Sants.

 

Nou Barris district

Three Kings Parade in Nou Barris. 5.30 pm: arrival of the Three Kings by train, at Torre Baró Station. 6 pm: Reception show at Plaça Major de Nou Barris. 7.15 pm: The procession sets off from Via Favència.

 

Sant Andreu district

Three Kings Parade in Bon Pastor. Sets off at 5 pm and finishes at Plaça de l’Antic Mercat.

Three Kings Parade in Congrés-Indians. Sets off at 6 pm, with a reception from the authorities at 7.15 pm, opposite the Els Congrés Church.

Three Kings Parade in Trinitat Vella. From 6 pm to 9 pm, setting off from Parc de la Casa de les Aigües and finishing at Plaça de la Trinitat.

Three Kings Parade in Sant Andreu i La Sagrera. 5.15 pm: arrival of the Three Kings by train, at Pl. Estació. 6 pm: Greeting and speeches from the district office, in Pl. Orfila. 6.40 pm: Parade starts, going as far as Pl. Massadas. 7 pm: Hot chocolate for everyone in Pl. Massadas and speeches by the kings.

Three Kings Parade in Navas. At 6.45 pm, setting off from Pl. Ferran Reyes.

Three Kings Parade in Baró de Viver. As from 7 pm at the Baró de Viver civic centre.

 

Sant Martí district

Three Kings Parade in Clot – Camp de l’Arpa. From 6.45 pm to 8.30 pm. The vehicle travelling in front of Gaspar will be gathering kids’ dummies while the post car will be collecting all the children’s letters.

Three Kings Parade in Poblenou. From 5.30 pm to 8 pm, setting off from and finishing at Can Saladrigas. Letters will be collected after the parade.

Three Kings Parade in El Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou. From 6 pm to 8 pm. Starts in C/ Wellington and ends in Placeta de la Carretera Antiga de Mataró.

 

Sants-Montjuïc District

Three Kings Parade in La Marina. From 6 pm to 9 pm, setting off from Pl. Matemàtiques. The “Devils” of the Port will be tasked with getting the fireworks show off the ground.

Three Kings Parade in Sants – Les Corts. The Three Kings will be received at 5 pm and their parade will start at 6 pm.

 

Sarrià – Sant Gervasi district

Three Kings Parade in Sant Gervasi. Letters will be collected in Pl. Bonanova at 6 pm and the parade will start at 7.45 pm.

Three Kings Parade in Sarrià. 3 pm to 6 pm: letters will be collected in Pl. Consell de la Vila.  6 pm: the Three Kings will be received by the authorities. 7 pm: The parade sets off from Escola de les Salesianes.
