New municipal government organisational structure

Three new commissioners join the municipal government team in the areas of Sport, Culture and Enterprise and Promotion of the City and Innovation. The organisational structure will be organised into four Deputy Mayors’ Offices. The first, the Area of Economy and Work, Digital City and International Relations, will be headed by Gerardo Pisarello. The second, the Area of Social Rights, will be headed by Laia Ortiz. The third, the Area of Citizen Rights, Culture, Participation and Transparency, will be headed by Jaume Asens. The fourth, the Area of Ecology, Urban Planning and Mobility, will be headed by Janet Sanz.

The new municipal government structure means changes to the distribution of areas within the government team. The Councillor for Enterprise and Tourism, Agustí Colom, also takes on the areas of Commerce and Markets. The Commissioner for Education, Miquel Essomba, takes on the areas of Childhood and Youth, while the area of Elderly People will now be handled by the Second Deputy Mayor, Laia Ortiz. Marta Carranza is the new Commissioner for Sport. As for the districts, Gerardo Pisarello is the new Councillor for L’Eixample; Jaume Asens is the new Councillor for Sarrià – Sant Gervasi and Laia Ortiz for Sant Andreu.

The Commissioners for Business, Promotion of the City and Innovation and Culture are still to be assigned.
